Jerry is the founder of the Bartholomew Law Firm & Priority Elder Law & Estate Planning. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and admitted to the Eastern District of Michigan Federal Court, as well as enjoying memberships in the National Lawyers Association, the Sanilac County Bar Association, and various State Bar sections. 

Jerry received his Bachelor’s degree in Literature and Classical Languages from Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, FL, and his Master’s in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, Annapolis, MD. Prior to entering the field of law, Jerry taught Latin, English and History, and coached lacrosse for several years in Miami, FL–experience that now lends itself well to the educational seminars and leadership demanded in his law practice.

He received his Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law, Ann Arbor, MI, where he served as an officer of the National Lawyers Association and worked to promote the goals of the Lex Vitae organization. He served as a law clerk for the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Michigan Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation, and a distinguished Michigan law firm. He then practiced with a well-established firm in elder law, estate planning and bankruptcy before founding his own practice. In his 18+ years of serving clients in the Thumb and Metro Detroit regions, he has been grateful for the opportunity to come to know and help so many gracious families and salt-of-the-earth individuals who have trusted him to guide them through their ups and downs, plans and challenges.

He has been married to his wife Jennifer for 28 years and is the proud father of their eight children. He is active in his church and serves as an officer in the Knights of Columbus. He spends his free time reading, playing street hockey with his children, walking the family dog, having meals and good conversations with friends and family, and playing sports he is probably too old for.
